How to remove Boot Sector Virus
Symptoms :
1. Slows down your computer
2. Advice you that it needs certain program
The reason is simple, Boot sector virus reside in the sectors that are used to start your Operating System.
Some in the BIOS, so when you boot the computer even if you have just done a clean install it still remain.
How to remove Boot Sector Virus :
1. Backup your important files
2. Download a new BIOS flash utility (DOS version)
3. Copy the utility to a bootable floppy ( found at your motherboard manufacturer’s website)
Note : You cannot remove the virus if it is in the RAM of your computer
4. Create a bootable floppy from an uninfected computer. Then write-protect the floppy
5. Remove the Hard disk drive of the infected computer
6. Boot from floppy drive using the bootable floppy
7. Insert the Bios Flash Utility
Note: Do Not Turn off your computer until the utility tells you
8. Format your Hard Disk
9. Install an Operating System, Office and drivers
